Moderator, Blind Citizens NZ email lists | Expressions of interest needed 

Expressions of Interest Welcome

Blind Citizens NZ is seeking expressions of interest from Ordinary Members for the role of Moderator for two of our email discussion lists. The position is re-advertised. The Board’s approach is consistent with the practice of periodically opening up long-held roles to call for expressions of interest. Carl Halliburton has been the moderator of Blind Discuss since 2020 and of the Member Forum since its inception in 2022. He is eligible for reappointment and may also express interest.

The Moderator is responsible for:

  • Monitoring activity on the email lists;
  • Ensuring all communications are respectful;
  • Supporting members to follow established list guidelines.

The two email lists for which we are seeking expressions of interest are:

  • Blind Discuss: This is open to anyone in the blind community to join. It is a place for wide-ranging discussion on blindness-related topics. It assists in keeping members and interested people informed about blindness issues and events.
  • Member Forum: This is exclusively for members of Blind Citizens NZ. Topics are specific to organisational matters relating to Blind Citizens NZ.
