By joining or renewing your membership of Blind Citizens NZ, you are supporting the work we undertake on behalf of blind, deafblind, low vision and vision–impaired people throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. As a member of Blind Citizens NZ, you can choose your own level of involvement that best suits your interests, availability and circumstances.

Ordinary (full) Membership is available to anyone eligible for full registration with the Blind Low Vision NZ (Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind), Aotearoa New Zealand’s primary provider of blindness-related services. Information about eligibility criteria relating to vision loss can be obtained by contacting Blind Low Vision NZ – Contact Us. Ordinary (financial) Members have voting rights and can participate fully in all Blind Citizens NZ democratic processes.

Membership categories and subscription rates are:

• Ordinary (Full) Membership: $10 per year or $30 for those who can contribute more. A one-off Member-for-Life subscription is also available for $300.
• Junior membership: Free for people up to 16 years of age.
• Associate Membership: $10 per year or $30 for those can contribute more.
• Associate Membership is for friends, family members and whānau who support the philosophy and mahi of Blind Citizens nZ.

To join Blind Citizens NZ, you can complete our Application Form online. Existing members can renew their membership of Blind Citizens NZ by completing our online renewal form. Alternatively, application and renewal forms can be provided electronically (by email), or sent in the post. Completed forms together with payment details can be returned to our National Office or your local branch.
