Business sessions on Friday and Sunday encompass a myriad of topics, several of which are presented through our Remits’ process.
Saturday is shaping up as a particularly interesting day. Hon Nicky Wagner, Minister for Disability Issues will carry out the official opening followed by Kevin Eames, Adviser, People and Environment, Ministry of Transport speaking on Accessibility of Public Transport for People with a Disability.
Rick Hoskin Chair of the Blind Foundation’s Board of Directors and Board Director colleague Paul Sullivan will be speaking on the Blind Foundation's Life without Limits programme.
This will be followed by Dr Martin Sullivan speaking on the relevance of Disabled People's Organisations and / or disabled people who are lost and forgotten (e.g. not linked to or a member of a Disabled Persons Organisation (DPO).
We will then hear from Warrick Lampp, Chief Returning Officer - Business Development Manager, Electionz.com Ltd, speaking on Unveiling the mysteries of online voting
Saturday’s line-up of presenters concludes with an address from Gemma Griffin, Projects Leader, Convention Coalition Project Monitoring Group. Gemma’s presentation will focus on her international human rights experiences, and her attendance at the 2014 Geneva meeting where New Zealand's first ever country report was considered by the International Committee on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
We will hold our ever popular Conference Dinner later on Saturday night with our own Don McKenzie, O B E who will no doubt provide both insight and humour. We will also take the opportunity to make awards and presentations. We can't tell you about these now but be assured we will let you know.
