Branches

The Association of Blind Citizens of New Zealand (ABC NZ) has 15 geographical branches around New Zealand.  Each Branch is governed by a Branch Committee comprising a minimum of five individuals.  With the exception of the roles of Secretary and Treasurer (or Secretary/Treasurer), committee positions are filled by financial Ordinary Members.      

ABC NZ branches work together to:

• Remove the obstacles to blind and vision impaired people integrating into the wider community.
• Channel members' views into lobbying of local and national government for better recognition of the needs of blind and vision impaired individuals.
• Provide opportunities for social activities and peer support.
